ITINERARY

3 Days/ 2 Nights Sapa trip

Note: you should start from Hanoi on Friday then you can visit the Bac Ha Sunday Market (just happens on Sunday) on day 3 as below.  

Day 1: (B): Hanoi – Laocai – Sapa: Early morning, 7:00am depart Hanoi and drive to the mountain village of Sapa by air-conditioned car with driver & guide on the new highway. You’ll begin travelling from Hanoi to Sapa early in the morning which will take roughly 5 hours. Arrive Sapa in the afternoon & you’ll have some free time to settle in and freshen up at your hotel before start a half day trek to Lai Chai and Ta Van (vehicle is available for those who don’t want a long walk). Begin the 3.5 miles walk by descending into a rice-terraced valley on the foot of Fansipan mountain, with the heart-breaking landscapes. Walk though isolated villages, rice fields, and thatched roof villages where Hmong people live. Observe the Hmong at work and at play in their distinctive dark blue dress. Continue hiking to the village of Ta Van, one of the few villages in Vietnam inhabited by the Zay tribe. Arrive in Ta Van this late afternoon, continue exploring the villages nearby. Then pick up and drive back to Sapa. Rest of the day, explore Sapa town and its fascinating market. Overnight at Sapa.

Day 2: (B,L): Sapa: After breakfast, you travel by car toward the Silver Waterfall where you will be able to take a short walk to the waterfall. You will then drive further to Heaven’s Gate, the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. From there you can see Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina mountains as well as enjoy stunning views.

We start descending nearby the waterfall. The trail takes you all the way downhill through bamboo forest, which belongs to Hoang Lien National Park. Your picnic lunch will be served at a nice spot nearby a river.

After lunch, you continue the trek to Sin Chai village of Black Hmong minority, where Community Based Tourism in Sapa takes place. You will have opportunity to explore daily life of one of the largest group ethnic minorities in Sapa area. Then transfer back to Sapa for overnight. O/n at the same hotel.

Day 3: Sunday (B): Sapa – Bac Ha Sunday Market – Hanoi: After breakfast, check out hotel and transfer to Bacha (appr. 1,3hour drive) for explore the spectacular Sunday market. Here you will see local hill tribes from all over the area. The major tribe is Flower H’mong along with the Black Yao, Nung, Phu La tribes all coming from neighborhood villages to exchange local produces from their farms and livestock. After visiting Bac Ha market, drive 2,5 miles to visit Ban Pho village of Flower H’mong people, meet up with a local family, learn their culture and way of life. After lunch in Bac ha Town (on your account), walk to various villages if interested before drive back to Hanoi via the new express highway, a drive of approximately five hours. Arrive Hanoi in the late afternoon & have time relax and sleep.
