The 12-metre high golden statue sits at the top of a grand staircase, and it’s big enough to be seen from the sky as your plane approaches the island. The Big Buddha was built in 1972 and is part of the Phra Yai Temple in the northeast of the island.

12:00  Visit Viewpoint, The viewpoint sits atop limestone boulders that spill gently into the tranquil turquoise sea. Here you get a fantastic view of the Chaweng area through to Mae Nam Beach in the distance

12:30 Visit Grandfather & Grandmother Rocks (Hin Ta Hin Yai) Mother nature indeed has a sense of humor! These rocks have been shaped over millions of years by wind and water to resemble human reproductive organs. They are set on a beautiful coast lined with gigantic rocks that form inviting shallow pools in between. Because of their shape.

13:00 Visit Kunaram Temple (Mummified Monk) The body of Samui’s most famous mummified monk, Luang Pordaeng, is on display here in a specially constructed building. When he died more than 20 years ago, he was sitting in a meditation position. He is still in that same position and his body show a few signs of any major decay.

13:30 Visit Namuang Waterfalls  Na Muang Falls is the tallest waterfall on Samui. The water cascades over amazingly purple rocks and there’s a great pool for swimming at the base. This is the most scenic – and somewhat less frequented – of Samui’s falls.
