7:30 am Departure from hotel. If time is limited and you really want to experience the fascinating Mekong in a breath. Then this trip is for you. Located around 2,5 hours south of Saigon is the beginning of your discovery of the Deep South. Upon arrival Caibe, embarkation on a junk boat. The journey starts with the visit of Cai Be floating market, stop at a local boat and try tropical fresh fruit from Mekong region such as durian, mango…

We will proceed by the visit of some local communal factories such as the process of making rice paper for Vietnamese famous dish: spring rolls, pop rice making and coconut candies, then have a snack with homemade delicacies and an aromatic cup of tea. 

You will then return on boat to proceed the excursion to Dong Phu, Binh Hoa Phuoc and An Binh islands located between Vinh  Long and Cai Be. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River bring about large networks of meandering rivers, criss-crossed with countless arroyos, and remaining unknown to many people. Continue exploring the delta with a bicycle tour for 45 minutes(alternative means available if you don’t bike) though villages and lushly orchards, which gives a chance to see the real life of the locals. 

Lunch will await you at a fruit orchard where family descendants welcome their guests and you will have a chance to try the local delicacies. 

After lunch and a short walk to visit the orchard, and take boat trip for a 20 minutes boat trip and continue to discover the local landscapes along the Bassac River and observe the typical Mekong delta rural life of fish farms, brick factories and traditional techniques of making pottery. The excursion will end at Vinh Long pier. Then pick up and drive back to Saigon. Drop off at your hotel around 17:00.
